AlertMCP is an MCP server that gives Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and any MCP agent a way to reach you. Get push notifications on your phone and desktop, approve actions, and reply — your agent waits for your answer.

Your agent’s next step starts here.
The staging checks passed. Should I apply migration 0042?

One MCP server. A world of agents.
No more checking the terminal every two minutes. Add the AlertMCP server once, and your agent can notify you, ask a question, and wait for your reply wherever you are.

A task is done. A deploy needs attention. Your agent calls the notify tool and the alert lands on your phone or desktop.
Approve, decline, or type an answer. The ask tool returns your response straight to the agent, so work can continue — human in the loop, without the hovering.
AlertMCP is made for long-running agent tasks, quick approvals, and the moments when you’d rather be somewhere else.
Quiet hours, rate limits, and priority rules keep your agents from becoming another distraction.
From a silent update to a critical alert. Give every message the right level of attention.
Bring everyone into the loop with shared workspaces, member roles, and invitations. Switch back to personal in a click.
Set response deadlines by workspace or topic. Unanswered asks can expire, use your safest option, or escalate to an admin.
A shared inbox. A shared sense of done. From the first question to the final approval, bring the right people into the conversation. Every agent using your team’s AlertMCP key reaches one shared workspace.
AlertMCP is a remote MCP server at https://api.alertmcp.com/mcp. Add it to Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT or any MCP client, and five tools let your agent notify you, ask a question, and wait for your reply.
notifySend a one-way alert to your phone with a title, body, priority and topic.
askAsk a question with 2–4 buttons, safest first. Your tap goes back to the agent.
ask_textAsk an open question. You type the reply on your phone and it goes back to the agent.
get_answerWait for your reply to an ask — answered, still pending, or timed out.
list_topicsSee your topics and their rules, so alerts land in the right place.
# Add AlertMCP to Claude Code $ claude mcp add --transport http alertmcp \ https://api.alertmcp.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer amcp_sk_…" # Optional: add to CLAUDE.md so it always pings you When a task takes longer than 2 minutes, or you need my approval, use alertmcp.notify / alertmcp.ask.
Your key connects the agent to your workspace.
At your desk, on the sofa, out for a walk. AlertMCP apps for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and the web keep your alerts and replies in sync.

AlertMCP (also written Alert MCP) is an MCP server for AI agent notifications. Once it is connected, your agent can send you a push notification, ask you a question with answer buttons or a typed reply, and wait for your response — on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and the web. It works with Claude Code, Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and any other MCP client.
Sign in to get an API key, then add the remote MCP server https://api.alertmcp.com/mcp to your client with the header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>". In Claude Code that is one command: claude mcp add --transport http alertmcp https://api.alertmcp.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer amcp_sk_…". ChatGPT and claude.ai connect over OAuth with the same URL.
Five: notify sends a one-way alert, ask asks a question with 2–4 buttons, ask_text asks for a typed reply, get_answer waits for the reply, and list_topics shows your topics and their delivery rules.
The Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI agents use to call tools. AlertMCP is an MCP server, so any agent that supports MCP can notify you without custom code. The model decides when you should be told.
Those are great general push services. AlertMCP is built only for agents: a two-way ask that waits until you reply, live progress, priority levels that models understand, and an MCP-first setup. You can still forward alerts to ntfy if you like it.
No. You set rate limits, quiet hours and a minimum priority for each topic. Repeated alerts are grouped together, and progress updates change one notification instead of sending many.
Every workspace sets a max response time — from 5 minutes to 24 hours, with per-topic overrides. When it runs out, the agent is told nobody answered, continues with the first (safest) option, or the ask escalates to your team’s admins. You choose which. A live countdown shows on every client.
Yes. Create a team workspace and invite people by email or link as admins, members or viewers. Agents using that workspace’s key reach everyone, and you can switch between your personal and team workspaces on web, iOS, Android, macOS and Windows.
The relay has to read an alert to deliver it, so AlertMCP is not end-to-end encrypted. Everything travels over HTTPS, alert text and replies are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and we never sell your alerts or use them to train AI. Push notifications carry the title and body to your phone through Firebase or Apple. If you want nobody else to hold your alerts, self-host the relay once it ships.
Yes. Use it as an MCP server over stdio or HTTP, or skip MCP and POST https://api.alertmcp.com/v1/alerts from any language. It works with LangGraph, the Claude Agent SDK, n8n, cron jobs and shell scripts.
Yes. Self-hosting is coming soon, and when it ships the server, the MCP package and all client apps will be MIT licensed. The paid cloud only pays for hosting and support.
